It's finished!!

I fixed my mistake and sewed like a mad woman yesterday and this morning.

I'm very happy with the quilt. I made 3 edges scalloped and the top edge straight so it would fit more like a bedspread.

Stats:
  • 238 denim circles cut by hand from jeans, shorts and a dress
  • countless small spools of colored thread
  • 46 semi circles and 192 5 in squares of fabric from my stash
  • 3 band-aids...pins and my fingers don't play nicely together
  • size: 75 x 90 inches
  • weight: 8lbs

  1. Looks really cool! I don't quilt a lot, but I just finished snipping the seams of a denim/flannel raggy quilt I made. That was more time consuming than actually making the quilt. Snip, snip, snip...This looks great, and a great pattern!

  2. I reiterate what I said yesterday. I'm in awe, awe, awe of your work. Had that been me, I'd still be ripping. I like the back as much as the front. If you'd like I'll send you a bandaid, which would be my contribution to the project .

  3. My mom made a quilt for my sister and husband for their wedding some 11-12 years with the same pattern. Lots of old demin jeans were put to good use. Good work!

I bet there are extra circles lying around my dad's house if you have the itch to sew another one?! ;O)

  4. Wow that is beautiful! I used this technique on a place mat to see if I would like it enough to use it to make a large quilt. I stuck myself so many times with pins that after I was done with the place mat I said No More! To much pain for me... You Rock!! Congrants! You did a wonderful job!
