Garden beauty

Before my garage sale I made some flags from scraps to put up by the street so people would know the sale was here. As it turned out, we had so much stuff the flags weren't needed. They've sat on my sewing machine case until today. I decided to pretty up the garden a bit.

Incidentally...the garden is doing very well. I have green tomatoes on all the plants and a couple yellow pepper on one plant. I've been harvesting herbs nearly daily. The lettuce is looking pretty poor but I'm going to try and let it dry out a little more. I think it's not well enough drained.

I picked up a small stoneware pitcher from a garage sale last week. The lady didn't want to bargain much with me because she said it was made by a famous MN potter named Robert Briscoe. I'd never heard of him but looked it up when I got home. I paid $5 for it...she said she paid over $30.
Last evening, I went around the yard and picked a pretty bouquet for my new pitcher.

I still have NO flowers in my garden, but I do have a few tomatoes on the plant that came up from seed. The ones I planted this year are still not producing anything. Still don't have my herbs planted, but I see yours are doing great.

Love that barbeque on the deck. Wowser. And those flags really, really liven up the green of the garden. Very lovely. Now, if I only had a few of those fabric "scraps" (grin).

Hi Halle;
Thank you for stopping by and visiting my workroom and leaving me nice comments.
I stopped to visit your blog today and enjoyed myself. I love that you hung your flags on the deck rail, your flowers are just beautiful.
It's so good of you to do the 3Rs, here in Hawaii we try to do the same. Most of my furniture is second-hand and refurbished by me or my husband, we have gardens throughout the yard with fruits and vegetables and because we live where the sun shines most of the time, we hang our laundry outside to let the solar heater dry them.
I love your book purse, like to give it a try one of these days.
Bye for now.
