I think they are baby wrens. The mama of these 3 tiny babies is pretty small herself. The nest is only about 3 feet off the ground in our dwarf lilac bush along the front walk. She was scolding me from a nearby tree for peeking in on her brood while I snapped a quick picture.

Once I found a nest abaout 3 ft. off the ground, with 2-3 eggs in it. Don't know what kind of bird it was. We were out geogaching and found it. Maybe wrens? Great shot of the babies!
I've seen three people on the internet showing their babies in nests this week. It must be something in the water (or the bushes). Great photo.
