Spring is in the air

We've got a pair of chickadees busy preparing a nest in the bird house I plucked out of a FREE pile at the curb while on a walk last year. Those birdies have it stuffed so full that the nest is trailing out.
I'm not sure how they plan on raising babies in there.

We are finally getting some moisture. It's been so dry that grass was crunchy.
The crab apple blossoms love it.

I'll be cutting some off in a bit to bring inside. Too bad the blossom stage is so short lived.

My neighbor's tree is further ahead than ours...at least I get to enjoy it from afar.

Thanks for calling today. This is the first I've had a chance to get on the internet. I had to enlarge the birdhouse. I can't believe you got that FREE. You are a better "dumpster diver" than even I am! It is amazing. I agree that's one full house.

Your flowering trees are gorgeous. I have ONE tree in my yard and it's the one in front. Very big, but not beautiful. In fact, it takes up all the space, so there is NO place for me to plant anything. And of course, the side yards are both too shallow to plant a tree. So, I will admire yours (and your neighbor's) from afar.

Again, thanks for your concern for my safety.

Love the bird house photo....that is a really great photo! Birdhouse isn't bad but the photo is great. Those birds must live in my art room...often it is over-stuffed, too!

Really lovely photos. Yes, we are having our spring storms down this way, but most have gone just north of us. Im planting more flowering plants and trees. My neighborhood has many established floering wild olive trees and others, so living on the bay we have lots to attract many birds and butterflies and other critters. Hope you have some baby birds in your bird house.
