Too funny...too weird

Wasn't I just saying that I was very protective of my children's images??!!??

The little one beckons for me to come to her and this is what I find...

Still working...not sharing...

I'm a bit frustrated that I'm working on an altered scrapbook of memories but am not comfortable showing my completed pages with the world.
I am quite protective of my children's images (and my hubby is "off the charts" security wise, so showing pix is out of the question.

AAAGGHHH!!! I love the latest spread I made but if I blurred the photos on a graphics program the post would be completely meaningless.

Sorry, I guess I just needed to vent...or let people know that...yes, I am still working on stuff, along with spending countless hours outside in the heat watching my kiddos play. Ok, I'm whining but with the high temp and humidity it feels like forever!

Beginning to harvest

My cute little yellow pear shaped tomato plants are starting to ripen!

These are actually #'s 4 and 5 off the plant. I was overzealous an ate the first 3 after a quick rinse before documenting my success.

I'm crossing my fingers that the big tomatoes ripen as well. I've been having trouble with them turning black on the bottom...not all but some.

The challenge now will be keeping them watered and alive in the 90+ heat.

Memories frozen in time

After finally getting around to ordering a ton of digital pictures, I figured I should really have somewhere to put our memories.

This is the title page.

I'll likely add a picture of both kids below the word Cherish.

I tend to do a *summer memories* book each year but I'm not going to limit myself to that this time. I'm not really sure how this altered book/scrapbook will evolve. Since I'll be including photos of family and friends I won't be showing many pages. I will show the completed book, at least from the outside, when finished.

I had a chance to play a bit yesterday.

I mostly worked on putting the tip-ins I've received together with my own pages in a patriotic theme book. I think I still have a page or 2 coming so I can't say I'm done with that one yet.

Although I did make one new spread in my just for fun altered book.

Gifts for a friend

I can finally reveal the full picture from the sneak peek I gave last week.

Theresa got her gifts in the mail and is very happy, so I'm happy too!

Anniversary Circle book complete

Quite a while back I showed my circle for the anniversary swap on ABC.

Here's my completed book.

I used CD's that had been sitting in my UFO (unfinished object) bin forever.
They were colored on both side by pouring blue and green metallic inks on then swirling a bit.
The black swirls are two different rubber stamps and plain old dye-based ink.

Coffee pages

I decided to drag out my coffee themed altered book over the weekend to try and get a few more pages done.

Here's what I came up with...

When I decided to do this book I thought it would be a breeze.

I LOVE COFFEE. How hard could it be, right?!?

Apparently I like drinking my coffee, not creating art about it.

Swap 4x4's and a sneak peek

These are my map and napkin theme 4x4's for a swap on ABC.

Here's a little sneak peek at another item I'm working on.
More to come at a later time.

Altered pages..just for fun

I was having art withdrawals so I whipped up these couple pages in my "just for fun" no theme alteredbook.

Everything on these pages is from my scrap heap. I keep trying to whittle it down some but somehow it multiplies when I turn out the lights.

Book of Letters

These are the pages for the most recent book I received in a RR.

I'm really happy with the way the beading on the edge turned out. Hopefully the owner will like it as much as I do.

Huge tomato plants!

Can you believe the size of these tomato plants?!?!

Actually, there are 2 plants in each pot. I did that because I wasn't sure they'd even make it.

My hubby bought this organic garden soil. After potting up the tomatoes and a bunch of herbs I discovered that it said on the back of the bag "NOT FOR USE IN CONTAINERS". I just crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. It certainly worked well!

The white pot has regular tomatoes, I believe Celebration was the name. The other is the little yellow pear shaped tomatoes. A childhood favorite of mine. :)

To give you a little perspective, the deck railing it about 5 feet off the ground. The plants are at least 3.5 feet by themselves and the stems are at least 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
