With One Image challenge published

Remember a while back I mentioned some of my challenge pieces were chosen for publication?   Well...my complementary issue of Somerset Memories Spring 2010 has arrived!

I couldn't be more thrilled!!

Trust me...I was excited when I got the email saying they had chosen a few pieces back then but I can't even tell you how much more wonderful it is to open the magazine and see your own work on the page.

I'll be sharing all seven pieces I submitted as soon as I get the package back. The pictures I took before sending them off were really poorly lit and kind of fuzzy. Thank goodness Somerset takes their own beautiful photos!

Wish me luck...

I sent off more art to Somerset Memories in hopes of getting published again. This time it's an altered book about my dad and his childhood.

Here's a tiny sneak peek:

Completed old projects..starting new

I finally bound some old tip-in and smaller size pages into one book this week.

I'm on a mission to finish all these UFO's (unfinished objects) I've started somewhere along the line.

I was chatting with a neighbor just this evening over the bonfire about memory and lack thereof. Is it Adult-ADD or short-term memory loss but whatever you want to call it...I've got it!!! Geez... I can't walk down the 2 sets of stairs to the basement and remember what the heck it was I went down there for!
OK...I think I'm on a tangent now....

My original point was...I have a ton of projects started or even nearly complete but never seem to tie up all my loose ends. THAT is my new mission.

With that said....haha...I have started a new project or more of a challenge. It's a call for art from Somerset Memories magazine. It can be either a group or an individual using ONE IMAGE to create a multitude of art. Of course since it will be up for submission I won't be showing what I've created until I've heard the news either way... I hope to get my projects in the mail next week for consideration.

Grandma Olena--PUBLISHED

The Dec/Jan issue of Somerset Memories was in my mailbox today...and why is that significant?? Only because I have a piece of art published on page 63!

I am awaiting a reply from the publisher as to where or not I am allowed to share the image or not. Otherwise..hope you can take a peek at the magazine sometime.

UPDATE:
I got permission to share my published piece with you. In the magazine it's framed but I wasn't able to take a decent photo with it in the frame.

This caption appears next to the photo:
"There are very few photos of my beautiful Grandma Olena since she tragically died before reaching her 30th birthday. As a child I always wondered why she didn't smile for her picture...I'd like to think this tribute to her would make her smile now."

Somerset Memories

I am walking on cloud nine today!

I just got an email that a piece I submitted to Somerset Memories will be published in the Dec/Jan issue!!!!! I am thrilled as you can well imagine. I can hardly wait for the magazine to come out.

Late spring of 2008 a charm bracelet of mine will be published in a book titled 1000 Jewelry Details.
