Tea Tuesday

For months now I've been enjoying the Tea Tuesday posts on some of my favorite blogs. I wanted to join in myself so I asked Kimmie, our hostess, if she'd mind if I joined the tea party. Being the gracious host that she is...she agreed.


I decided since this was my very first Tea Tuesday that I should celebrate and bring out the good china. In fact, I have NEVER drank out of on of these cups until today.

As a kid, this set of dishes was brought out for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter...that's it. It was my Grandma's and last year was handed down to me from my folks. I've actually only ever eaten off the dinner plates...and that wasn't until I was a teenager that that privilege was allowed.
I must have been quite the clumsy child. :)

With my tea, I'm enjoying a special Norwegian treat called Krumkake. My mom bought it at a church Lutefisk supper over the weekend. I usually make some around Christmas so this is a real treat to have some now.

Journal page

After I finished up some more miniature terrain this afternoon, I had some leftover paint on my palette. Since I really hate waste anything, I grabbed my art journal and made a quick page.  I left plenty of room for future writing or what ever my heart desires at the moment.

It felt really good to work with paper again! I've taken a bit of a break from it while working on my miniatures...which I also love but oh! the satisfaction of finishing something in one sitting..or standing, as the case was for me today. Miniatures don't work that way...they are painstakingly slow.

Bits and pieces

I thought I'd show you some of the projects I've been trying to work on until my back tells me to stop.
I had started each of these projects BEFORE hurting my back...

And finally, another piece of miniature terrain.



I have to admit that I'm really having fun making this stuff. It's a challenge and work is slow...which can become frustrating but the results are worth the wait.

Hello..remember me?!?

I feel as if it's been ages since I've posted anything.
At least I had my Friday freebie scheduled to post...  I threw out my back on Thursday and today is the first day I've been able to sit at the computer without a great amount of pain and back spasms.

I have been slowly working on a couple things over the past couple weeks. Some miniature terrain and a 12 days of Christmas swap(which I can't show full photos of until they are opened). 

My girl and hubby carved some nice pumpkins over the weekend. I roasted the seeds and they are oh so yummy!

Welcome to the world....

If you remember, a little while ago I made a diaper cake as a baby shower gift.
