Tea Tuesday: Enjoying the garden

On yet another beautiful morning, I am having a little quiet time on the deck before diving into the day.

Days like today remind me why we put up with the extremes of Minnesota weather.

We've been blessed with an abundant garden once I figured out how to keep the critters at bay. The fencing and the flags along with an occasional sprinkle of blood meal seem to have done the trick.

I've picked a couple ice cream buckets full of green beans...

Enough snow peas for stir-fry and munching...

Several big, yummy cucumbers
with more on the way...

Very soon I'll have more tomatoes than I know what to do with...
I can't wait!

And by the way...
our leaves are starting to turn...
just a few here and there.

What a short growing season!

Drop by my friend Kimmie's blog to see what's going on with my tea Tuesday pals.

What are you doing today?

Lovely little garden. August is never a month for gardens here, as it is just too hot. But soon I will be starting the fall garden. I so look forward to it. Love your flag idea! Happy tea day.

I'm glad you are having success with critter patrol. That would be so discouraging! You have quite a bounty there .... Two ice drawn buckets full?!?! That's amazing! We are having the leaves begin to turn color here too. Too short of a summer!!

Wow, Halle. Your garden is stupendous this year. I'm totally impressed. I can't believe what a short growing season you have, but your garden looks amazing. Wish mine was half or even 1/4 as good. Nothing much growing here, except herbs. No fall leaves here. Ours are all from someone's yard that blew in when we had the monster storm last week.

BTW, I love that photo of the cup of steaming tea. Gorgeous photos.

I can't imagine what it would be like to live somewhere where you could grow stuff like that! I guess thats why I post photos of places I visit more than where I live. At least early in the morning I can enjoy the shade in the courtyard before it gets too hot. I am thankful for that!
